[googlefont=Quicksand][googlefont=Ubuntu:400,700] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindtop"] [attr="class","opmindtopp"] [attr="class","opmindtopleft"]05 [attr="class","opmindtopright"]SLAYERS [attr="class","opmindtop2"]WE DISPLAY SLAYERS, SLOTS AND ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THEM IN THIS THREAD [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"]Slayers are mages who use Dragon, God or Devil Slayer Magic, a form of Lost Magic designed to specifically kill either Dragons, Gods or Devils. These magicks allow the mage to transform their body into either a Dragon, God or Devil with features of their respective elements. Each Slayer type is described below. DRAGON SLAYERS are mages who use Dragon Slayer Magic, magic designed to kill Dragons. Their respective elements are neutral in balance between light and darkness and thus have an ordinary appearance. Overuse of this magic can potentially warp its users into a dragon. GOD SLAYERS are mages who use God Slayer Magic, magic designed to kill Gods. Their respective elements are “corrupted” and take on a blackened hue. For example, a Fire God Slayer’s flames would be jet black. God Slayers should represent some kind of deity. This magic can physically and mentally corrupt the user, turning them into sinister, corrupted versions of themselves. DEVIL SLAYERS are mages who use Devil Slayer Magic, magic designed to kill Devils. Their respective elements are “blessed” and take on a lightened hue. For example, a Fire Devil Slayer’s flames would be reddish-white. Devil Slayers should constantly struggle with their demonic side as using this magic can cause the user to “demonize” and potentially lose their sanity. There are several ways that a mage can learn this magic, and Slayers are classified into “generations” depending on how they learned their Slayer magic. FIRST GENERATION SLAYERS learned their magic directly from a Dragon, God or Devil. In some cases, the Dragon, God or Devil can raise or mentor the Slayer personally. SECOND GENERATION SLAYERS have their Slayer Magic granted from having Dragon, God or Devil Lacrima implanted into their bodies. THIRD GENERATION SLAYERS have both been taught by a Dragon, God or Devil and had Dragon, God or Devil Lacrima implanted in their bodies. Slayers gain several benefits from their magic. For one, they are able to consume natural or magical sources of their element in order to restore themselves and heal injuries. However, in terms of consuming magic, this only works if the Slayer’s magic rank is equal to the elemental spell in question. For example, a Slayer who is B-Rank with their Slayer Magic will not be able to consume an A-Rank spell. Also, Slayers are able to utilize Dragon, God or Devil Force once they hit A-Rank, a special ability that greatly increases the Slayer’s Magic Power. However, Slayer Magic cannot be created freely. To be a Slayer, you must apply for an available Slayer position in this thread. If your desired element is taken, or if all Slayer positions are unavailable, don’t worry. It is still possible to become a Slayer! You can buy a Slayer Lacrima from the Magic Shop and become a Slayer that way, regardless of whether there is a Slayer of the element you want or not. There can even be duplicates of a Slayer this way (two Sky Dragon Slayers, two Water God Slayers, etc). To apply for a Slayer position, fill out the template below. If you are approved, you are expected to be active. If by a monthly activity check a person will be gauged not to have been around or reachable at all for posts or threads, then they'll be stripped. Every person may only apply to one Slayer slot each. No matter if it's with a different character, if you already occupy a Slayer slot, the only other way around is for you to buy a Slayer Lacrima for your other characters. When it comes to players who were stripped of their slot, there are certain guidelines when it comes to retrieving it should they want to: - In the past if you did indeed post and were active but you eventually went inactive. In that case, if the element is free you may retrieve your slot with the same character.
- If you have been stripped because of the old guidelines, where you couldn't post twice or once a week then you may still apply again, to retrieve that slot with the same character.
- Should you have been temporarily banned for the violation of RP etiquette (godmodding, powergaming and etc.) you cannot apply for a Slayer slot or retrieve your former one at all.

OOC Name: Tyler Slayer Position Desired: Light Dragon Slayer RP Sample: It had been a simple mission. It was not supposed to be simple. According to the Rune Knight’s intelligence network, there had been a Dark Mage, one who was possibly connected to a larger Dark Guild, selling black market magic items out of a back alley near Akane Beach. So, Aurelio, the fledgling Rune Knight, was dispatched with a much more experienced comrade to investigate the rumor and see if they could put a stop to the illegal trade, at least for a short time, if not forever.
Intelligence had been wrong.
The man in the alley had been a simple charlatan selling counterfeit, or even outright bogus, magic items, like glasses that would supposedly let one see through swimsuits. . . as it turns out, they did little more than everything a little bit blurrier. They had gone in the Rune Knight’s evidence lock-up, but Aurelio suspected they would find themselves in the trash before long.
To make matters worse, Aurelio and his partner had planned the coolest ambush. His partner was going to pose as an interested buyer whilst Aurelio was perched overhead on a building. When the ‘sale’ went down, Aurelio would jump down as a streak of light, materializing behind the dealer and keeping him in a bear hug whilst his partner held him at spellpoint. As it turned out, it was not needed-- the man was as dangerous as his merchandise was legitimate. After assessing the thread, his partner had simply bound the man with a low level spell and they carted him off to the nearest depot for processing, much to Aurelio’s chagrin. The young Knight had wanted action and a chance to apply his mysterious magic for good! But he had found nothing but disappointment and a sullen mood fell upon him, compounded by the illness brought on by the motion of the train they were taking back to Crocus.
“Hey,” said his partner, “you feeling alright, Aurelio? You seem a lot more down than usual. . .”
“It’s just the train. . .” said Aurelio, muttering beneath his breath, mood dulled by letdown and motion sickness.
“No,” said the Rune Knight, “you’ve been acting strange before we even got on the train. What’s wrong, kid?”
Aurelio sighed. “Well, it’s just that I was hoping for a little more action, you know? Something a bit more important than taking down a charlatan salesman.”
“Hey now,” said his companion, “all the good we do matters, no matter how small. We’re keeping a lot of people from getting ripped off and, not to mention, just because he was selling phony glasses today, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be selling something more dangerous tomorrow.”
“I guess,” said Aurelio, “I just wanted to really show off, you know? I’ve been training so hard for this and my first real job ends up being a wash. . .”
“Aw, come on,” said the Knight, “you’ve got some wild magic there, bud. You’ve got the chance to do more good than most of us ever will. I’ll tell you one thing: not everything is going to be raids and the like. But you’re still doing good, even on days like this, you know?”
What the man said was true. . . Aurelio did love his job and being able to make a difference, even in small ways. He cracked a smile, despite the sickness churning his stomach.
“Yeah,” said Aurelio, “you’re right.”
The older Knight was right. Aurelio was doing good. It was as if fate had given him a gift with this magic and so long as Aurelio could keep doing even a little good, he was going to keep using the powers of a Slayer for justice.

Post by Orion Glory on May 22, 2020 15:36:46 GMT
OOC Name: Pongo. Slayer Position Desired: Lightning God Slayer. RP Sample: Tonk. Tonk. Tonk.
The dull, monotonous thump of a hammerhead slamming down onto a wooden board filled the air, chiming in alongside the symphony of voices that flooded in and out of the great Oak City. A simple but tedious request from the mayor required an unlucky individual to scout the perimeter of the city’s walls, observing and repairing any damaged portions with supplies provided directly from the city’s council. A thick smell of pine wafted through the air from the raw logs and surrounding forest, clashing with the aromas of freshly baked bread and other delectable luxuries from inside the settlement.
“Yo, Orry.” A squeaky but buoyant voice chirped from somewhere below the wall.
“Orry. Orrrry. Orrryyyy. Orry lick the butt-horry. Orry. Orry!”
With his back against the large, dilapidated cobblestone wall, Orion Glory sat slouched, his eyes closed as his mind drifted into the deepest sleep of his life. A strand of drool formed at the corner of his mouth, his chin plastered firmly against his chest. He would have been completely dead and gone had his partner Funkfreed, the little orange Exceed garbed in nothing but red basketball shorts and a pair of black shades, not waltzed over and kicked him sharply in his side with a fiercely clawed paw.
He jolted awake with a grunt, dragging the backside of his forearm across his face to wipe away the remnants of the dream world. “What, man? I was passed the hell out.”
The look on Funkfreed’s face was an amalgamation of disturbed, puzzled and annoyed all at the same time, twisted into one funky ass looking expression. “I saw, yo. You get too much sleep! And ya’ don’t even get anything to eat!” His little feline features changed on the dot after that particular rhyme. As quickly as Orion had fallen asleep, Funkfreed was reaching behind his pants, whipping out a small blue notepad with a pencil jammed into the spiral spine. “Awww yeah! That one is way too good to pass up! This one is going down in the Rhyme Tymes for sure!”
Orion’s face was blank, plain as the boards he was using to mend the wall’s wounds. He leaned his cranium backwards, resting it against the hard, cold barrier. A sigh overcame his chest, only exasperated by his lips rumbling together as he exhaled.
“Bbhhhhhhbbhbhbhbhb. That’s right, Funk. We were patchin’ up this wall. I’d totally forgot.”
Unfortunately, his partner was too busy rambling to himself and scribbling sweet nothings in his personal diary. Orion turned to stand, placing his back to the menacing pine-wood forest. From behind, a resounding, high-pitched voice emerged from the shadows cast by the vegetation.
“OOOOOOIIIIIII! YOU’RE DEAD! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUUUU!” This red-headed fool marched ferociously down the only dirt path leading to and from Oak Town, both of his hands twitching at his sides. Tiny yellow lightning bolts sparked around his bandaged appendages, which had matched the rest of his mostly-white colored outfit.
“Ya’ll think you can just kick me out, huh?! I was captain of the Oak City Guard for five years!! FIVE FUCKING YEARS!” The man angrily shouted.
Orion only barely gazed over from his spot near the front gate, mildly curious as to what all that noise was about. Funkfreed did the same. They stared in the maniac’s direction while taking note of the dangerously rage-fueled lightning magic now blatantly radiating from his palms.
“Man, that shouting idiot sure is annoying.”
“Uhhh! Yo, yo! Orry. I think you should go stop this guy?!”
Orion shifted a glare towards Funkfreed. “What? Why should I stop him? He ain’t my problem.”
Funkfreed jumped into the air, sprouting a pair of feathery white wings from his back with a splash of blue and green magic powder, allowing him to fly around in the air and hover, which he did.
“Orry, if this guy destroys all the hard work we’ve already done, we’ll be toast! … Son! Haha, got another one!” His whiskers wiggled joyfully, wings carrying him around in circles as he retrieved his trusty notepad.
Orion on the other hand had completely ignored his rhyme again. He simply sat there, watching as the electricity-wielding intruder stopped about twenty feet before the entrance into the city. He huffed and he puffed, only growing more furious by the second. His brows furrowed and he leaned his head forward, calling two fiery bangs forth to drape across his forehead.
The raven-haired swordsman gripped his trusty blade Raimei by the scabbard and, albeit reluctantly, made his way over towards the big bad wolf.
“Mmm’yeah, I s’pose… I really don’t wanna have to go back through and fix it all again. Oi, big boy!” Orion called just ten yards away from the man now.
He snapped his head towards Orion, a grimace plastered across his face. The magic power emanating from his body produced a threatening aura, causing the god slayer to tighten his grip on Raimei.
“Who the fuck are you?” He spat, now turning to face Orion.
Orry frowned in response, now loosening his posture. “Listen man. We can make a deal here. You leave the wall alone, I won’t fuck ya’ up. Alright?” It seemed like a simple offer on Orion’s part. The other guy didn’t seem to think so, however.
“FUCK. YOU!! VOLTAGE SHOT!!! HRAAAAAAGHHH!”
Finally releasing his pent up wrath, the lightning-wielding wizard thrust his arms forward, surging a large golden bolt of electricity across the green pasture towards Orion. A sickening crack filled the air as the energy bolt left the man’s hands, leaving behind a fuming trail of burnt grass in its wake. At first, Orion looked as if he wasn’t going to react to the spell whatsoever.
Before the lightning could strike him, Orion dropped his jaw, causing the electricity to spiral upwards in the form of an energy cone, flowing effortlessly like an ebbing river between Orion’s lips. In the blink of an eye, the spell the red-headed opponent had unleashed vanished, topped off by a burp from yours truly.
“Uh-oh, ya’ done fucked up now, yo!”
“Baaaagah~. Eugh, your lightning tastes like shit.”
The man’s jaw dropped as well, only he wasn’t consuming any lightning. He was dumbfounded at how his attack had been negated so quickly, so.. Undeniably. It was like he’d never even fired one in the first place.
“W-what..? N-no way.. No, no! You cheated! YOU CHEATED!!”
The god slayer cracked a smile, his nostrils flaring as he began to inhale. His stomach filled with a mass of black, sizzling lightning bolts that hissed and bounced, screaming to be unleashed.
“I s’pose yer right about that… I am cheating. I’m using god mode…. LIGHTNING GOD’S BELLOW.”
Orion reared his head back, chipmunk cheeks forming as his mouth now overflowed with electrical energy. He then burst forth, opening his mouth to release a massive tornado-shaped wave of black lightning energy that completely swept up the stranger’s form while also ripping up small rocks and patches of soil from the ground along its path. It was strong enough to wipe his adversary off of his feet and send him tumbling down the rolling emerald hills, paralyzed and visually burnt from the overwhelming power of the slayer’s signature spell.
Unfortunately, the wind pressure produced from the technique also had enough power to rip their poorly patched from the walls, unveiling it’s scars beneath and undoing all of their previous work.
“ORRY!! WHAT THE HELL, YO?!”
“Ah, shit…”

OOC Name: Nico. Slayer Position Desired: Fire God Slayer. RP Sample:Through his mask, golden orbs quietly looked over his hand. A hand that was closed in the tight wraps of his glove, his eyes couldn’t help but narrow at the bittersweet feeling of what it was like not needing an armor. Ever since that damned night, where his body had been destroyed beyond recognition and now— he was no longer even what he used to be. Due to those, he considered monsters, at the hand of those THEY called monsters, and yet their atrocities had grown to be beyond anything a Demon ever did in the past decades.
He could feel it all. He could feel anger— hatred… all of it. He couldn’t sleep. He didn’t remember the last time he could rest at ease. Every single second of his life he was through excruciating pain within the depths of his very soul that burned with the flames of a wrathful God.
He considered himself more of a God than those who once dared to call themselves such. And yet, at this moment, the man was all but whole. Especially under this armor and yet, after all these years none of his feelings changed about it, and vengeance more than ever felt like the only option available. No, it was. But the plan was not ready yet however its wheels in motion more so than ever. His position in the Rune Knights was secure and yet the anger, the hatred— both of them to this day were difficult to handle but there was no other way.
For a brief moment an odd, purple haze began to smoke out of the air chambers of his mask until suddenly his ears picked up on something: one of the small fries suddenly walked in his room, as the man’s instinctive magic release immediately faded away.
‘Captain Dethener, you’re requested in the halls.’
Silent came. An eerie one, through the deep breathing of his ventilation system before he nodded.
“I will be there shortly.”
A sense of superiority overwhelmed the one lower in the hierarchy as he just quietly gazed towards the sitting figure; he could only see his back, with that black cape that ran down. It was an unusual attire for a Rune Knight but it was part of the man’s vital system. There was no way he could have had it otherwise without having to go through modifications that he deemed to be unnecessary. He stepped away and closed the door.
Once more, he was alone.
“Soon.”

Post by Vallis Loens on May 23, 2020 13:58:24 GMT
OOC Name: Imuit Position Desired: Poison Devil Slayer RP Sample: The rumors were true.
Mikage Forest was teeming with magical power.
No one knew who or what the source was. However, news spread quickly about the great concentration of mana resting within Mikage Forest. Vallis was no mage, but he yearned to be one. Time and time again, he tried to grasp at the gift of magic, yet no matter what he did, he failed every single time.
Desperate to unlock his magical potential, Vallis took a risk and journeyed to Mikage Forest himself. He heard that exposure to large amounts of ambient magic could spur one’s own magical energy. While he knew full well the potential dangers awaiting him, Vallis continued exploring the dense forest. The air was thick with magic, so much that the magical energy manifested into visible, dark green strands. Eventually, Vallis arrived at one of the forest’s lakes. Ever since Vallis had entered the forest, he did not see any other person. However, several feet ahead, a figure sat crosslegged by the lake’s shore. Vallis squinted as he tried to make out who or what the figure was. It looked humanoid, save for the two large horns jutting straight out of the figure’s skull. Then, it hit him.
“... The magic. It’s coming from them,” Vallis muttered. Even with the distance between them, the figure’s magical power bore down on Vallis like a two ton weight. Sweat bridled on Vallis’s brow. His muscles tensed. He took a step back and another. Then, the figure called out to him.
“What brings you here?”
The figure’s deep, gruff voice echoed throughout the clearing. Vallis bit his lip before answering.
“I’m here to find out where the magic power in the forest was coming from. Does it belong to you?”
The figure remained still. “That it does. A byproduct of my power. Is it power you seek?”
Vallis paused. “... No, not necessarily. I just want to learn magic. I’ve done what I can to learn, but I can’t do it. I figured that being around this magic would help me and--”
His voice trailed off. Suddenly, the figure laughed, his deep voice rattling Vallis’s core. “Leave now, and forget ever becoming a mage. You aren’t worthy of any magical power, mortal.”
Vallis took a step back, shocked by the figure’s response. He looked down towards the ground and did not move.
“I said leave, mortal,” the figure commanded. Dark green tendrils of pure mana shot forth from the figure’s magical aura and crashed right to Vallis. Vallis screamed as the figure’s magical power overwhelmed him, filling his mind and soul with absolute dread. Vallis crumbled down to the ground, struggling to resist the figure’s influence. His body and mind told him to flee, but his spirit said otherwise. With painstaking effort, Vallis forced himself to his knees and eyed the figure with an agony-twisted visage.
“Please. Help me. Please,” Vallis pleaded. “I want to use magic … to change the world for the better. Please …”
The figure kept his back turned. Then, the volatile magic surrounding him dissipated, releasing Vallis for its clutches. With a chuckle, the figure finally stood up to his full height. He easily stood well above eight feet tall with a muscular physique decorated with long spines that matched his black and red skin. All he wore were a pair of tattered pants and a simple bamboo hat that hid his face from view. He walked over towards Vallis and peered down at him with a pair of glowing, orange eyes.
“Tell me your name, mortal,” he said.
Vallis looked up. “... Vallis.”
The figure knelt down. “I am Eitur, the Poison Devil. Your resolve is impressive, Vallis. Let us truly see if you mean what you say.” Eitur’s clawed hand began to cackle with noxious power, and he hovered it over Vallis’s head. “I will bestow upon you my unique brand of magic. It is not a power to take lightly. Fail to control it, and it will consume you, leaving you nothing more than a ravenous monster. However, if you succeed …” Eitur grinned, sharp teeth glinting. “We’ll see if that happens.”
Finally, Eitur rested his hand on Vallis’s head. Vallis felt a sudden onrush of magic flood his body, filling him with unimaginable power. The power overloaded his senses and body, and within a few moments, Vallis flopped onto the ground, unconscious. Eitur pulled his hand back and rose to his feet once more. “Curious mortal you are,” he murmured under his breath. “Don’t fail me.” With that, Eitur disappeared into the forest.

OOC Name: Carrot Slayer Position Desired: Ghost God Slayer RP Sample: The capital sin of sloth had been committed, leaving in its wake a path of destruction and demise. The lone girl stood with a look of pure sorrow amongst the body of the deceased, recognizing them as they shared an uncanny resemblance to her client. She was too late, a result that wasn’t only the fault of her own, after this entire request had been around for a few week without anyone taking it. The request from a child to search for their mother whom hasn’t come back from hunting, but much like any other request something that didn’t have a suitable reward would always be overlooked as the world didn’t simply just revolve around the kindness of a stranger.
Ether sighed, wiping the blood of the beasts that she had just slain from her face with a feeling of disgust in her stomach. Death was a sight that she was all too accustomed to, a trail of bodies always followed where she went as if she were the embodiment of a grim reaper. Gently, her two hands entwined with each other, eyes fluttering to a close as the woman took a deep breathe.
“-Invoke.”
As the lone word left her mouth a brilliant flash of light followed with a runic circle appeared around her filled with illegible ancient words and symbols. From the body of the dead, a pale blue light- a wisp manifested from nothingness, gradually rising up to levitate in front of Ether whom now opened her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” She said immediately, the tone in her voice made it apparent that her words had sadness to them. “Sorry that I was too late.” The wisp was unresponsive for a moment, but floated closer to the girl as words begun to fill the darkness around them, a voice that didn’t belong to the girl. “I want to see… I want to see my child.” It was the words of the wisp, the ghost of the parent, a lingering regret that caused their spirit to remain in this world.
“That is something I can grant, I swear upon my pride as a god slayer.”
Ether stood up, holding her hands towards the wisp and gently held it within her embrace. Slowly, the spirit from begun to merge to be one with the slayer, allowing her body to act as a container least until the promise was kept. With that she left the scene, making her way to pull the curtains of a sad tale. It was her job after all, ever since she had made that promise with her master to save the souls of the perished and devour the sins of the damned.

It was a frank and unhesitating admission. Normally, he would be gratified to receive such praise from a creature extolled as being divine and without peer, but the claws wrapped around his throat ensured that he felt nothing but the discomfort of imminent suffocation. He mustered up what strength he could and tried to raise his arm; this action, which took no more than a few seconds to perform, felt like an eternity to the young mage as his consciousness slowly began to drift. He managed to grab hold of the other's arm, and noted that the being's skin was cold to the touch. There was something ironic about a God being so repulsive, not in appearance, but in nature - in the stories, they always emanated warmth; true, they were often said to be irascible when faced with impudence from what they could only perceive as lesser beings, but they could also be immensely generous, capable of bestowing the greatest of gifts.
Then Asahi remembered. He had come here in search of such a gift, and had no intention of dying. Suddenly, he felt stronger, the grip on his throat felt looser and he could wrap both of his hands around the God's arm. He tried to pry him off, but it was a futile attempt. The God noticed this, threw back his head in a reverberating guffaw and flung Asahi away with inhuman strength. "What's your name, child of man?" he rasped. Of course, he did not receive an immediate reply as Asahi was busy coughing and spluttering, still unable to formulate a proper sentence. In this regard, the God demonstrated holy restraint, waiting patiently for the young mage to gather his bearings and give him an answer. Eventually, it came and the God mulled over it thoughtfully
"I'll remember that. As a courtesy, I'll tell you mine. I am Ringjax, Lord of Phantasms and King of Spectres!" the way he announced his titles seemed like overkill to Asahi, but the young mage tolerated it. He knew that his life was in Ringjax's corpse-like hands. If he continued to fight, he would be killed. If he ran, and somehow managed to escape, he felt as though he would never be able to come back here. Either way, his life was forfeit.
Ringjax considered his words carefully. "Why did you come here? You woke me up from a deep, deep sleep. Out of respect for your formidable will, I did not kill you immediately but... the more we talk, the angrier I get at having been woken up...." he began to trail off, the bemused expression on his beautiful face was reminiscent of a human who just realized he had been trying to hold a conversation with a fruit fly.
Asahi dropped to his knees, and explained himself quickly. "All of my friends were wiped out. Because I was weak, I couldn't protect my friends or my ambitions. That's why I've come here!" he shouted it in as loud a voice as he could manage.
"I cannot bring your friends back to life, child of man. My condolences. Take refuge in the knowledge that you will be seeing them soon," the thinly veiled threat suggested that Ringjax was done with this charade. He wanted to go back to sleep. He began to step forward, uttering arcane incantations that manipulated the shadows around his cave; it would give him the power to kill Asahi as quickly and as painlessly as possible. It wasn't as though he harbored any ill-will towards the young mage in particular but since he knew the location of this hiding place, it was dangerous to let him live.
Asahi realized immediately that he had been misunderstood. "My friends are in a place where nobody can ever hurt them again. I've already accepted that they're g-gone. But as long as I'm a-a-alive, I still have my a-ambition. I came here for your p-power. So I don't have to lose anyone again, so I can protect my ambition!" he managed to articulate his wishes surprisingly well considering the damage he had just sustained to his larynx. It was enough to stop Ringjax in his tracks, enough to arouse the Lord of Phantasms' curiosity.
"A child of man has an ambition worthy of my power? Do tell," the inkling of sympathy that had been present in his voice before had completely disappeared. Clearly, he had felt affronted by Asahi's haughty declaration. "The world's strongest mage," was the labored reply he received.
For a mere second, Ringjax was dumbfounded. "You really are a child of man," he spat venomously as he continued his strides over to the mage's battered body. "Yes, with a lofty ambition like that, you would surely need my gifts," he continued, a tinge of regret in his voice that he had bothered to fling the young mage such a great distance. There was a part of him that hoped he would just turn tail and run, but in retrospect, he was just creating more work for himself. "But I'm afraid your arms are far too short to grasp that title," he raised his foot and kicked Asahi, propelling him until he was at the mouth of the cave.
"You slithered your way past my minions and into my lair just so you could beg for my power? If a snake like you became the world's strongest, there would be no need for me to hide out in places like this!" he sauntered over to where Asahi's body lay, half of it covered in the shadow of the cave and half of it illuminated by the sunlight outside. The young mage had not replied to Ringjax's disparaging comments, so he had just assumed that he had already lost consciousness. But the mage's hand was raised, an index finger pointing to the general direction of the cave's entrance; with considerable effort, his lips began to move and his voice came out as a weak whisper.
"Didn't sneak in. Look." was all he could manage before blacking out.
The God looked at the entrance to the lair and saw the bodies of his minions littered about. They were far weaker than him, even put together and then multiplied exponentially, but they should have been more than enough to overwhelm an inquisitive human. Ringjax's drowsiness had been completely dispelled at this point, and the light of day meant that he could see Asahi's figure properly for the first time. The marks around his neck that Ringjax had inflicted were apparent, but there were other wounds too. He was barefoot, his clothes were tattered and a deep gash adorned his abdomen. The foul expression on his face had subsided. Wordlessly, and with uncharacteristic gentleness, Ringjax grabbed the young mage's collar and dragged him slowly back into the confines of the lair.

OOC Name: DoomDoomDoomy ( Doomy) Slayer Position Desired: Wood Devil Slayer RP Sample:🌸 🌸🌸Minds are like flowers; they open only when the time is right Remembering is always painful, isn't it? remembering can always cause suffering. It felt like a knot in her throat when she remembered the past, she had been so naive, so childish. She would let out a small sight as she prepared the flower arrangement in front of her. Tenderly, as she would care for any of her plants, she dreaded for them to be used for evil; but at the same time she knew her plants could serve for those who had no protection. Her plants could be a fortress, a safe haven, her plants could cure. Her plants could help those seen as meek or weak.
She certainly had been perceived that way. As weak.
She was so small and pure in her true form, a price for any to claim. A fairy, what a pure form to have. Tiny, frail, one easy prey.
Nana would not have assumed herself to get caught so easily. But the girl wandering in the forest seemed lost, she seemed helpless - Nana did not know that she was the one who was helpless. The girl’s laugh, so contagious. Fairies had always been curious, but what a bad moment to be curious.
"Let me out...Please." Caged. Nana was caged for days, months, years. A pretty cage with golden flower ornaments. Kept for the diversion of the child, of the family, as a pet. She saw, how others were caged and Nana soon knew she was not in a good place. The other creatures withered, were exchanged for money. At least she was not kept in a dark place, but was in a lightened up room, in the beautiful bird cage but, oh so unhappy.
After years of imprisonment, her glow started to fade, she got sick, the tiny prison looked tinier and tinier each day that would pass. A death fairy was a useless one, therefore the family took Nana out for fresh air. What a mistake.
魔樹の支配者(Conqueror of the Devil Tree) That's when Ma'am came in. That's how Nana would call her, Ma'am. Finally saved from the family by that Devil -that’s when she would learn how to bend the world around her with a newfound magic to be able to defend herself. That’s how she was able, not due to revenge but out of mercy for those creatures trapped in that horror house, that she went back to save them.
She could have been easily killed by Ma'am, tall shadowy figure. She would always remember how he would pick her up with a giant hand - even more so compared to her frail form. He would be given power - but she would no longer be a fairy - a being of light, not completely at least. She would assume her human form - something she did not use much before, and in she would loose part of her glow that would be replaced by a devilish tint she would need to control. She could still acess her small winged form - but her glow would decay as she used her newfound powers, and a decaying glow was never a good sign for fae. Maybe these powers were to help the weak, but they also caused Ma'am a lot of fun to give to such a creature, probably.
She bit the apple. She accepted said powers, that she used to save the ones she could save, not those who had withered, many of them who had left this world in years of unhappiness - and the many new ones she could see had been harvesting. She had once been one of them. The forest would take back what had been taken from it. And she did the same with any injustice she saw, even as she is new with this powers - she had helped some, most without the use of violence. Most.
She had been frail. But she was no longer frail. Now human- shaped at last, she was not longer fragile, and her power was enough to help those, who like her, were seen as weak. If she had only known her time with devils was not over, if she had known all she knows now. How something full of light,as she was, had become in what she did. Whatever it was, she would use her abilities in sake of others - or so she tried. Would power corrupt her? Why give any big power to such a tiny being?
The memories flooded her, but at least she added the last poppy flower to her arrangement. Glowing, beautiful - but full of thorns.

OOC Name: Corrin Slayer Position Desired: Water Dragon Slayer RP Sample:
Even long after her days of instruction ended, she found herself feeling dissatisfied with her current status. Genesis was completely unlike her long-time traveling companion, Aaric, who was a capable mage. He could not only carry his own weight but also hers as well, always guiding and coming to her need when she needed him. The number of times he had saved her would leave her feeling nothing more than a sitting duck. Even if she was told countless times how powerful and unique her magic was, the sheer fact she only barely capable of summoning enough to coat an appendage for a simple attack made her wonder who was at fault. If it was her choice, water was never the element she would have chosen to try and master. It felt as if it was her polar opposite, too calm and slow for her liking. How was she supposed to master something that felt as if it was fundamentally rebelling against her own style? As inadequate as she felt, Genesis still mostly blamed her instructor for her current skills. He should have been the one to guide her to become better, not leave her in the dark.
Like the previous job they had taken, Genesis found herself contributing nearly nothing, just sitting on the side and watching Aaric fight. Occasionally she would give him a light cheer, but that was the extent of her participation. He had everything covered, just like always. Even if she would offer to help, it wasn’t as if she could do anything useful in the first place. The only silver lining about this entire job was the fact that it paid well, something that at least got her hopes slightly up. She was idly watching him fighting against the fauna, not paying much attention to the fight in front of her. Due to the lack of attentiveness, she would fail to notice one of the more intelligent creatures sneak up behind her companion wrap its arms around his body. Only his scream would catch her attention.
“Aaric!” Genesis shouted, shooting towards her companion and his assailant. He was visibly struggling against its grasp but found no method of breaking free. In fact, the creature appeared to be further tightening its grip. “Let him go!” She yelled, trying to slam her fists into its body, beating at its side in hopes that somehow he would let go. Her mind was focused solely on saving her friend, a deep-set desire to make it pay came to the forefront. She was not going to let it get away with this. The creature would not react, ignoring her as it would slowly continue to crush her companion.
The world around her began to ripple as she soon found her body acting upon its own. “No!” Water surrounded her fists, enough to enhance the force of her blows to finally force it to pay attention to her, but not enough cause it to let go. Instead, the creature would look down at her with an annoyed look upon its face, briefly relieving the pressure around Aaric, but its own anger was merely redirected. Without hesitation, it would kick her in the stomach, causing her to fly backwards until she would hit a nearby tree.
“Gen-” Aaric’s scream was cut out with a loud shout of pain as the creature resumed to try and crush him to death. Pushing herself upward, Genesis felt helpless, the emotion reflected upon her own expression. What could she even do in a situation like this? “Please! Run!” She had already exhausted her options, leaving escape as her only option. However, she couldn’t bear to see her companion in pain. She didn’t want him to die just for her sake! Her head ached from the rage that she felt, making everything feel blurry. How could she even think clearly like this? Desperately, she would search her mind for anything in her training that could help her in this situation. There was only one theory that she could remember right now: the form of water.
...No. It was a completely useless form, originally devised to help her deal with her behavior issues. It was just a theory, a mindset she had to take when she was getting rowdy and nothing else. How was she going to use something like that when even magic wasn't helpful in this situation? The realization slowly dawned upon her. What she needed was to make an opportunity to escape with Aaric not to beat it. As much as she hated to admit it, that stupid theory actually had a use. There wasn't much time for her to hesitate, she had to act fast. Genesis hastily got to work, doing her best to remember her training.
First, take a deep breath. Devoid herself of any strong emotions, including her own anger. Water was always calm and collected, never frantic. As difficult as it was, she had spent years learning to control it. All she needed to do was suppress any rage she felt for a few seconds, nothing more. Surely, she was capable of being calm for that short period of time. All the anger and hate were forcibly pushed down, leaving her feeling empty.
Next, she must observe her surroundings. Look for any small deal one could find, anticipate any changes or actions that could happen. As it was always flowing and changing, Genesis had to be just as adaptable as the water was. Look for any opportunity, even if it was small and potentially even inconsequential. Her eyes shifted around, observing her surroundings. Nothing of the creature's form appeared to give it a weakness, but she would notice a beehive on top of the tree, something she had completely failed to notice before. There were plenty of pebbles around. Maybe if some way she could provoke the hive, she could have the bees distract it. Aaric would probably end up getting stung as well, but it was nothing compared to getting crushed to death.
Finally, once she knew that she was in full control of herself both body and mind, would it finally be safe to go. It was only safe to act within true clarity. Like most things in life, there was only one chance and as such, one must make the most out of their decision. Eyeing the branch, Genesis would pick up a pebble that laid by her foot. Remembering the forms she would practice during her years of training, she would close her eyes and act purely upon instinct. Her body moved fluidly as if she had become one with the stream herself. The stone struck the hive and while there was not enough force to cause it to fall or even crack, it was enough. The action itself invoked the wrath of the swarm that would lay havoc to the closest living being, that was the creature and Aaric. The creature screeched, finally releasing its hold on her friend, and would do its best to escape the angry bees on its tail.
There were still a few bees remaining, but a few painful stings were nothing. "I'm so glad you're alright," Genesis said, tears streaming out of her eyes as she pulled Aaric to his feet. She had managed to save her friend and that was all that mattered. It was upon this day when Genesis had finally begun to understand the true meaning of magic. Even if it was meant to help her in a physical sense, there was always a lesson she could have taken from it, one that she had neglected for all these years. Even if she still struggled to grasp the fundamentals, she would continue to improve. There would come a day in the future where she would finally make peace with her magic, taming and making it her own once and for all.
