Dethener felt great unamusement from her very first answer: he didn’t seem one to be uplifted so easily. Truth be told neither did he even care about it. There was only one thing that mattered and such was the result of this. If she was to disappoint, he would have done as needed. Regardless, though, there were boundaries he couldn’t surpass: he was a Rune Knight. For now. He had to play the part until he could acquire the freedom and authority he needed.

But as of now. He had little to do but to at least try and gain sympathy within the ranks. Topaz herself didn’t seem like a concern, if anything, maybe he could have just seen her as too much compared to him.

“It better be so. Soldier.”

The corners of his mask didn’t seem to give away much, neither did the lens that masked his true visage. Dethener himself had made sure not to show himself to anyone: it was too dangerous.

After the introduction was made, the elders backed up on their transport— a typical cab and made their way ahead while the two Rune Knights marched together. Forward. Thin, yet sharp breezes of air passed through the forest at times with gentle chirps of the birds and leaves that clashed against one another either from the wind or creatures that ran by.

Many minutes passed. Dethener wasn’t obviously going to be any source of company to her, whilst he walked idly forward as if he just expected something to happen eventually and it did. After many minutes of silence, began a scream from underneath— an impact. Something broke through the cab, two long horns, sharp and ready to kill as a creature. A large, but small creature, almost like a big wolf but more similar to a boar assaulted the cab.

It could smell the people in there and it saw them as prey. It soon jumped away and howled in the sky before its foot met the ground a few times— the creature prepared itself to strike once more.

Dethener didn’t react. Topaz would have had to deal with this.

The Captain clothed in dark watched carefully as the action issued; it was somewhat of an interesting faith nevertheless to observe the soldier handling themselves. He could use the knowledge and information on any of the fellow Rune Knights if they were ever to display themselves as an obstacle to what came forth. Yet, of course, he wasn’t quite going to move a finger himself. He didn’t feel like it, neither did he want to.

“I will leave this to you, soldier.”

Said the man across his breathing, while his lens slowly watched Topaz get in the way of things. The creature was of course, put on a certain level of distress the moment Topaz decided to interfere but her next move, latched onto the creature as it continued to struggle within the hold itself of the tentacles.

The pig-like creature tried to move left and right, its horns shining in the air as it was stuck in the tentacles. It was stressed. Yet, it wasn’t the only one here actually stressed. The elders panicked and were drawn back to behind the cab, as they reached for Dethener’s location; they could see him as some kind of Overseer and as a second layer of protection.

On the other hand, Dethener slowly watched and yet beneath his mask came a worrisome look. It couldn’t be seen from the outside, as the figure just watched, still as a statue.

“That color— those winds… who taught her that?”

The masked Demon held his breath for a moment, before he let out a long exhale and soon stepped forward, his attention towards Topaz.

“Kill it. Kill it now.”

Although the creature looked defenseless, a faint, almost translucent glow began to shine over it. Topaz could probably have a hard time to notice it unless she looked closely enough. But yet it didn’t seem to explain why of Dethener’s demand.
