The caravan was to set out at daybreak. Ozer Magnus stood in waiting along with all the cargo over night, just as a courtesy to ensure no thieves got their hands on the goods before the job had even started. Remaining out of the way and part of the background until everything was loaded up, the Golem gripped the job flier in their hand and fell into formation with the caravan as its wheels lazily groaned to life when pulled on by the proverbial work horses (though not necessarily horses?) that were strapped in at the front. This whole thing still seemed like a risky business venture but Ozer didn't have the finance books in front of them to figure it out. Most likely they were cutting costs by hiring D-ranked mages for protection, to maximize their profits at the next town. Still, spending too little on security could cause them far greater loss.... Ozer felt as though they would make a better financier than a combative mage for them, but it would not align with their prerogative. The best option now is to find the other mage and assess their abilities, as to fully prepare any mounted response they'd need for fighting off bandits. " [~Customary greeting here]. I am the entity designated Ozer Magnus, the second affiliated D-ranked mage hired for this job. It is imperative we collaborate on how best to defend this caravan from assault. Submit to inquiry of name and rank and describe your thaumaturgic capabilities in detail as well as any other tactical equipment you are carrying for best consideration of a successful outcome." The golem 'warmly' introduced themselves to their temporary partner on the job, as well as 'courteously' asking them what they were good at. In all their monotone and monosyllabic glory Ozer engaged in this thing they had been described to as 'making friends', something he was still in the early works of optimizing, if that wasn't obvious. | SPELLS USED: N/A | | Ocra was always super excited to do a job, and another caravan escort was precisely the type of job he had been looking for. Unlike most quests where the description will basically spoil all the mystery and excitement behind a job, these ‘bodyguard’ type jobs could never truly give away all the possible juicy details that it would entail. It’s not like the merchants in charge of the caravan were psychics who could see into the future right? If they could why the heck would they ever hire mages at all, especially D-rank ones! The young mage’s mind began to dive deep into this endless rabbit hole of logic as he sat cross legged atop the caravan. Man if I had the ability to see into the future I would always choose the most exciting route! The one with all of the monsters and bandits to make sure that I had the most fun while protecting this thing! Though it would be kinda boring to always be able to tell where the danger is comin’ from… I mean part of the whole excitement is not knowing where the next baddie is gonna pop up from!
Pulled out of the endless pit of questions and answers, the boy’s attention was brought toward the mechanical mage, as it seemed to greet him with weird words and ask lots of questions! Either way Ocra was excited, as he had always heard about golems but hasn’t actually seen one until now. Leaning over toward the being, the young mage stretched out his hand to shake his new companion’s. “Entity? Thaumaturgic capabilities? Oh you mean magic! Well Ozzie my name’s Ocra and just like you I’m a D-rank mage! I’m actually a Gravity mage, and while I don’t really have any cool equipment, I do have my sword!”
